The JACOB JENSEN Smoke alarm is an optical smoke detector which reacts speedily to all forms of visible smoke. This includes smoke from smouldering embers which can be a problem for ionisation smoke alarms. | This smoke alarm is "intelligent". It has a micro processor programmed so that the alarm -daily - checks and adjusts its own sensitivity for optimal smoke detection. The alarm is equipped with an acoustic and visual alarm which along with a loud signal in case of fire, also gives a call when the battery needs changing or in the event of technical disorder. Further, it gives a call when it needs cleaning. | The red test button is of course used to test, but further to reduce sensitivity in order to avoid false alarms, for example, smoke arising from a cold fire place or while cooking in the kitchen.
