Brionvega Alpha TV Review - A Classic Design from the Future.

Brionvega has been making TVs for over 60 years now. Most of the old style retro models such as the Doney or Algol are still available for sale but this famous Italian Design company has recently come out with the first LCD TV in the brand's history, the Alpha TV. This symbol of Italianess has an integrated DVD player and high definition acoustic, a very unique remote control. In terms of design, we think it has more to do with the future rather than the past but the chrome metal and the orange plastic remind us of a great time for product designs. At around 1700 Euros, it is not cheap but this is a price to pay to recreate an atmosphere long gone, with a zest of 2010 technology.

Swedese Swedish Furniture - Brasilia Coffee Table Review

On all the Product Design Awards received by Swedese, one of the most deserved for me goes to this uniquely shaped coffee table in birch, oak or walnut wood. The +1 Diploma 2002 goes to Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune for the Brasilia coffee table by Swedese. The architectural review Forum awards the Best Item during the Stockholm Furniture Fair. “The qualities of the Brasilia lie is its sculptural design, its harmonious volume and its game between the open and the closed" writes Björn Dahlström, Exclusive jury, in the Forum article.

Christopher Ward London - C8 Pilot Watch for Men

I read the goal of Christopher Ward London is to build "the cheapest most expensive watch in the world." A goal I believe they have done. I received the C8 pilot recently, and the all experience was great. The first noticeable point is the quality and presentation of the watch. It is packaged in a leather bound wooden case, with a certificate of authenticity (CW watches have a unique serial number), a polishing cloth and a letter personally addressed to the new owner and signed by Christopher Ward himself. The quality of the packaging exceeded expectations for a watch at this price.

The watch itself is designed in England by Christopher Ward, and is hand made in Switzerland, so a real “Swiss Made”. Being a British design, CW incorporates an homage to the WW2 Spitfire fighter on the case back and on the second hand, find the British wing insignia. (Inner red circle, surrounded by a blue circle)

The C8 Pilot's watch is a contemporary evocation of the original oversized pilot's watches manufactured by the like of IWC, Wempe and Langhe & Sohne during the Second World War.” The oversized 44mm outer-case to the soft iron anti-magnetic inner-case which surrounds its fine Swiss automatic movement shows that. It also has a 25 Jewel automatic movement, Incabloc anti-shock system, 38 hour power reserve, Super-luminova hands and indices, screw down back plate with a balance wheel viewing window tunnel, anti-reflective sapphire crystal dial, soft iron anti-magnetic inner case and a stitch and studded calf's leather strap with a butterfly opening deployment system
Great quality and value for money, you will impress anyone who knows about watches with the extensive list of technical specifications for a watch of this price, and you will impress great designs lovers with this true stylish piece of men’s accessory.

Iris Gooseneck L.E.D Desk Lamp by Adesso Home

The 80’s meet the 00’s with this noticeably designed LED desk lamp, the flower drop is the clear focus point with its smooth, almost mathematical line contrasting well with the sharp lines of the base accentuated by the double finish metal. I like the stylish toggle switch which has a hidden sensual connotation, every time a pleasure to light on.

One of my favorite points about Adesso is that they do not only think green, they do green, with industry leading LED lighting technology and designs, they are at the forefront of low energy consumption design and high style. (The same way they use materials such as rice-paper, woven fabric, glass, resin, renewable bamboo wood and cork for their home contemporary home accessories and reasonably priced furniture.)
